COLLABORATION WITH IRISH/EU COMPANIES IN ASIA

Corporate Project Development

I am currently exploring opportunities for Irish and European businesses who are currently operating or wish to establish bases in Asia by supporting them in the development of sustainable projects with local communities in the region.

Given my extensive experience oversees I have seen how this collaboration can benefit both the company and the community. I understand the challenges, I understand the importance of identifying the relevant local partners in order to develop the sustainable projects.

Commercial & Social Benefits

Social responsibility is a very important component strategy for any company. It demonstrates to consumers, existing and potential clients, stakeholders and shareholders that a company is engaged in wider social issues. This in turn can directly or indirectly lead to greater profits for a company, a positive work environment while enhancing the brand of the company on national and international levels.

As a company develops and expands its business within a new region, it should simultaneously consider its social responsibility role within that region.

How it works

Depending on the company and the region the strategy will include, but not limited to, developing sustainable collaboration with local and regional schools, medical centres, municipalities, farmers
SMEs and Non Governmental Organization (s) in the region.

  1. Due diligent review is carried out in the region on the social needs, local partners, NGOs already present. The review includes a detailed analysis of the interaction of NGOs with local SMEs/projects in education, agriculture, livelihoods and governance sectors.

  2. Based on the findings of the review an analysis is carried out on how the company can directly or indirectly contribute towards strengthening existing projects or consider the establishment of new projects within the region.

  3. Following on the above a strategy is developed for this particular region - detailing the initiatives, finance required, potential partners, structures required to be put into place, including the team necessary to implement the project, for Board consideration.

If you or your business have a partnership project you would like to discuss or develop please get in touch.

Testimonials

2021/2022 Kathleen worked as part-time consultant with the Compliance team in GOAL Global, Dublin. In particular, in collaboration with the Head of Compliance, she contributed to the development of a suite of complex donor funding template Agreements for GOAL Projects world-wide. Although the consultancy project extended longer than initially anticipated, Kathleen's commitment to the completion of the project together with her understanding of the challenges, greatly supported the work of the Team. I highly recommend Kathleen for her astute judgement on organisational risk, her eye for detail in lengthy complex binding agreements and her results orientation. Mary Van Lieshout, Deputy CEO GOAL and Director of External Affairs

Since January 2020 Kathleen has been supporting our UK charity, Makan, in developing a suite of governance policies for our organization. This has been crucial for our organisation at a time when we are growing as an institution and need to build a good governance environment that supports our team. Kathleen is a pleasure to work with, and her work process is straightforward - she brainstorms with management on each policy, she questions what we want reflected in the policy, its impact on Makan, its compliance with the charity regulator, then she drafts the policy for consideration by the organisation's leadership. This methodology is the success factor in building policies that support and nurture a good governance environment within our organization. Tamara Ben-Halim, Director Makan
Kathleen worked as Interim Governance Manager with VSO Cambodia. In her short term in this position the VSO Cambodian Governance Programme won a successful bid of circa 1 million euros from the European Union in support of good governance within national NGOs. Her contributions to the project design and development were very appreciated. She can quickly analyse situations, facilitate teams and collaborate with networks to make projects happen. Her understanding of the importance of good governance in an NGO context and the supports and skills necessary to promote this were some of her key attributes in the success of the programme. Vantha Chea, Former Country Director VSO, Cambodia
I appointed Kathleen as Executive Director of CODATA. choosing her from among many outstanding candidates. During her 13 year tenure as head of this Paris based NGO, CODATA grew into a 23-country network at the forefront in the emerging field of data science. Ms Cass initiated and built successful collaborative projects with global scientific groups and most importantly, established a sound financial structure that enabled the organization to thrive and expand. Her ability to identify, assess, and propose solutions to critical issues faced by CODATA’s International Board was a key factor to the effective development of the organization during this period. Dr. John Rumble, President of R&R Data Services, Gaithersburg, MD; CODATA President 1998 – 2002
During my term as President of the organization, CODATA positioned itself as a voice for scientific civil societies in raising the importance of access to scientific data for research in documentation coming from the United Nations World Summit of the Information Society WSIS, WSIS 2003(Geneva), WSIS 2005(Tunis). This success reflected Kathleen's strategic negotiating skills at international level and her ease at promoting positive collaboration with people and networks from different countries and cultures in order to share common objectives overcoming small conflicts of interests. Shuichi Iwata, Former President of CODATA (2002-2006) Emeritus Professor, the University of Tokyo
